We forgot the marshmallows!!

We burned two great big piles of brush at the cabin this weekend. The perfect fire and we didn't have any marshmallows to toast!

Actually, it was too hot to get any where close to the fire. I'm sure we could've toasted the marshmallows from 10 feet away.

Right before we left on Monday, the wind picked up and blew down a birch tree across the driveway. We got a bit spooked and took off as fast as we could. The other birches and the cottonwoods were swaying a bit too much for our comfort. Luckily, the driveway loops, so we were able to get out without having to clear a path. We'll deal with those branches on our next visit. Unless Bogey drags them all off for us.

That's the neighbour's dog. He's very adorable!

Could have been worse - the birch tree could have fallen into the fire...KF

Actually, that would have saved me a lot of work. I'm just going to pile it up for burning - it could've done the job for me by falling in the fire...
